- These Terms and Conditions include provisions that limit and exclude the liabilities, obligations, and legal responsibilities of Mobile Telecommunications Limited ("MTC") towards you and other individuals, and by accepting them, you, the "Customer", "entrant" or "participant" acknowledge assumptions of risk and/or liability.
- You must read these Terms and Conditions.
- By participating in the Campaign, all entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- These Terms and Conditions must be read in conjunction with MTC's Standard Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and the relevant Content Service Terms and Conditions.
- Campaign Overview
- The MTC Summer Stars: Scratch & Win Campaign ("the Campaign") is a promotional competition organised by MTC.
- Eligible MTC customers stand the chance to win instant airtime.
- Customers can participate in the Scratch & Win Campaign and receive Scratch Cards through recharging airtime, subscribing to any of the selected MTC content services or upsells and/or by buying Aweh Bundles.
- Campaign Period
- The Campaign will run from 9 March 2026 at 00:00 and will continue until 9 June 2026 at 23:59 ("Campaign Period").
- Entries received after 9 June 2026, or the closing date of this Campaign, will not be considered.
- MTC may, in their sole and absolute discretion, amend or withdraw the Campaign with notice to entrants.
- Eligibility - Who May Enter
- To be eligible, the entrant must:
- Be a natural person;
- Be an active MTC Prepaid or Postpaid customer;
- Be a Namibian citizen or permanent resident in Namibia;
- Be 18 years or older. Minors may only participate under a guardian's registered MTC number with written consent.
- Participation in this Campaign excludes:
- Off-net (non-MTC) customers;
- Employees, directors, members, partners, consultants and agents of, or any other person who, directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by MTC or marketing service providers of this Campaign (and the spouses, life partners, immediate family members or business partners of the people or entities listed above). This includes:
- Supplier(s) of goods and/or services in terms of this Campaign;
- Corporate, bulk, M2M (machine-to-machine), or data-only accounts;
- Promotional partners, printers, advertising and promotional agencies, professional advisors and point of sale staff employed by or contracted to, or providing goods or services of any kind, to all the people or entities listed above during the Competition Period.
- Entrants younger than 18 years old must have the written consent of their parent or legal guardian to participate in the Competition, with the parent or legal guardian providing proof of their relationship to the entrant.
- Mobile numbers used to enter the Campaign or subscribed to any subscription service must be active on the MTC network at the end of the Competition. Should an entrant have entered the Campaign with a mobile number which is inactive on the MTC network at the end of the Competition, such entrant will be disqualified from the Campaign.
- How to Enter and Access Scratch Cards
- Customers qualify for digital Scratch Cards by performing one or more of the following actions during the Campaign Period:
- Airtime Recharge
- Recharging with N$30 or more in a single transaction qualifies for Scratch Cards according to the following tiers.

- Upon a successful recharge, participants will receive an SMS containing:
- The total number of Scratches earned; and
- A direct link (web-based platform) or a USSD menu code to access and play the Scratch Card game.
- Subscription to MTC Content Services
- Subscribing to a selected MTC content service qualifies for entry.
- Customers can access the Campaign by subscribing to a selected content service via any of the following channels:
- SMS;
- Please Call Me;
- USSD;
- No Funds;
- myMTC.mobi;
- TV or Radio advertisements; or
- The MTC App.
- Upon visiting the link or dialing the USSD, customers are taken to the Summer Stars Scratch & Win Campaign webpage.
- If they subscribe to VIP status, upon initial successful subscription, they will immediately receive Scratches. Thereafter, they will only receive Scratches upon successful billing for the full amount of the daily subscription price ("Successful Bill") of the selected content subscription service.
- MTC will not send an SMS for every Successful Bill; however, customers can access their Scratch Cards directly via the MyMTC App, scratchandwin.mobi, or *767#.
- VIP customers receive two Scratches per day for every Successful Bill.
- Non-VIP customers receive one Scratch per day for every Successful Bill.
- Customers only receive their relevant Scratches after every Successful Bill.
- Free trial periods, partial billing or pending subscription activations do not qualify.
- Subscription to the following MTC content services qualifies for entry into the Campaign.

- Purchasing of Aweh Bundles
- Buying qualifying Aweh Bundles automatically generates Scratch Cards based on the bundle value.

- Scratch Cards can be accessed directly via:
- The MyMTC App;
- scratchandwin.mobi; or
- Dialing *767# and following the prompts.
- Prizes
- Airtime Prizes: Instant airtime prizes are revealed in a pop-up after a Scratch and credited to the customer's airtime balance automatically.
- Prize Redemption
- Airtime prizes are credited automatically to the customer's number.
- Disqualification
- MTC reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
- Is not eligible to enter this Campaign as per clause 3.2 above;
- Provides false, inaccurate, or misleading information;
- Attempts to manipulate or abuse the system (e.g., bulk SIM registrations, automated recharges, or fraudulent billing);
- Engages in fraudulent behavior or collusion;
- Fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions; or
- Uses technical exploits or unauthorized access methods to gain advantage.
- Disqualified participants forfeit all prizes and may be permanently excluded from future MTC promotions.
- Liability and Technical Disclaimer
- MTC, its respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, technical suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors shall not be liable for:
- Any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the Campaign, or from any amendments to the Prize details and/or the terms and conditions of this Campaign. All entrants (including the winners) hereby expressly indemnify MTC, its respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, technical suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors, in this regard and shall hold them harmless from all and any claims;
- System errors, technical malfunctions, network interruptions, or delays;
- SMS delivery failures or delayed notifications due to third-party network issues.
- MTC will make every effort to maintain the availability of all campaign platforms (MyMTC App, mymtc.mobi, USSD), but temporary downtime or maintenance periods may occur.
- Where and when applicable, the winner shall be liable to pay any applicable tax related to the Prizes in clause 5 above.
- Prize Substitution and Transfer
- Prizes are not transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
- MTC reserves the right to substitute a prize with another of equal or greater value if the original prize is unavailable.
- Once a prize is handed over and acknowledged, MTC will not be liable for any loss, damage, or theft.
- Data Protection
- All personal information collected during the campaign will be handled in accordance with MTC's Data Protection and Privacy Policies.
- MTC will not share participants' personal information with any unauthorized third party.
- Winners' names and photos will only be published with their written consent.
- Governing Law
- This Campaign and its Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
- Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Namibia.
- Regulatory Approval
- This Campaign has been submitted to and approved by the Namibian Lottery Board under the Lotteries Act, 2017 (Act No. 15 of 2017).
- Final Provisions
- By entering the Campaign, all entrants give their consent to receive various marketing and promotional material from MTC. Entrants will be provided with an opportunity to "Opt Out" of receiving such communications, which may be via the relevant medium that such marketing communication was received.
- By participating, all entrants confirm their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- MTC reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the Campaign in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
- All decisions by MTC regarding the Campaign are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
- MTC reserves the right to withhold a prize if fraud or abuse is suspected pending investigation.
